Week 2 day 4

14th May 2015

Last day off work before the night shift run starts tomorrow. Made some veggie cottage pie topped with carrot and swede mash, Some yoghurt "chocolate button" treats and some sweet eggy cakes things. Kicked started the day with my egg sweet stuff and then did 50minutes on the cross trainer. Cooked the other things and then another 35Minutes on the cross trainer before the maintenance man comes and fixes the kitchen fan

cottage pie topped with swede and carrot mash. 
The real recipe is on the slimming world website (which can be accessed even if you aren't a member) but i thought i would show you what i put in mine as it is a little different from the website verison.
1 large onion
1 garlic clove
carrots
swede
2 cans of chopped tomatoes.
the topping
1 - dice the swede and three carrots and boil till soft.
2- mash and add to top of filling once done.
the filling
1 - crush the garlic clove into a pan and add the diced onion. fry till golden.
2 - chopped up a full bag of carrot sticks and added them to the pan.
3 - add a can of chopped tomatoes
4- add the mince. if you use real meat it has to be less than 5%fat.
5 - add another can of chopped tomatoes and simmer.

add to oven proof dish and add mash on top and bake till golden.
I ran out of topping so i will use the smaller dish for a bolognese.

yoghurt "chocolate buttons"
1 tub of muller light yoghurt
11g of options hot chocolate.
I used 5g of orange as that was all that was left in the jar and 5g of butterscocth.
 1 - measure the hot chocolate.
2 - mix on the yoghurt
3- put into a sandwich bag, cut the corner and make circles on baking paper.
4- put into the freezer.
these are two syns for the lot.

slimming world 1/2 swiss role thing.
I started making these and then noticed i didnt have a long tray so i made cupcakes and one smaller cake.
250g quark
4tbsp sweetner
1tsp baking soda (1/2 syn)
vanilla extract
4 eggs.
1- seperate the egg yolk and egg white into different bowls.
2 - add the baking soda, vanilla extract and half a tube of quark to the egg yolks and whisk.
3 - whisk the egg whites till thick.
4- whisk half the egg whites in the yolk mix. Then fold the second half of the egg whites into the mix
5 - put in the mould and bake for 15 minutes on 180degrees.

the topping.
add the vanilla extract and sweetener to the rest of the quark.
i also added some jam which is 2syns.
so 2 and 1/2 syns for them all. it made ten portions so 0.25syn each.

breakfast.


coffee with unsweetened almond milk, which I forgot about and didn't drink so no HEA used here.
two portions of the sweet eggy thing with extra strawberries on the side 0.5syn

Snack.

Had a pack of gummies while i was cooking my cottage pie. 3syns.
Giant green apple speed.
Dinner

Veggie meat balls free, in a homemade tomato sauce free and spaghetti free
Wholemeal bread roll HEB with butter mixed with garlic 2syns
Cheddar cheese HEA 

 Dessert. Strawberries free, sweet egg cake 1syn, Ben and Jerry 50g peanut butter clutter (i just couldn't resist as it is almost gone and i love peanut butter) 8syns

Syns = 14.5 / 15 (-25.5)
Calories = 1403
